The wind rules for West Palm Beach.

West Palm Beach is not in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone; the Florida Building Code draws that zone around Miami-Dade and Broward. We sit in a wind-borne debris region instead, with design wind speeds among the highest in the country. Wind does not ease up at the county line.

So we build above the minimum. Where the product line offers them, we use systems with Miami-Dade product approvals, the strictest approval written in the state. Every replacement is filed with the City of West Palm Beach Building Department. The paperwork runs from the engineering submittals through to the final wind-uplift certification.

Product approvals

Every part of the roof has a Florida Product Approval number, and we file them with the permit.

Wind-load calculations

Run to ASCE 7 for your roof's own height and exposure.

Secondary water barrier

A sealed layer goes on the deck under the roof material, and we file an affidavit for it.

Final certification

We close out the wind-uplift certification with the city before the job is done.

El Cid to the Intracoastal.

Two boards can rule on one roof here. In the historic districts, El Cid and Flamingo Park among them, the Historic Preservation Board goes first. It issues a Certificate of Appropriateness, and the building department will not take the permit without it. The board rules on everything from tile profile to flashing detail. We prepare those submittals with materials the board has approved before, which is the difference between one meeting and months of review.

Outside the districts the work changes street by street. The 1920s blocks often hide wood decks that need repair before anything new goes on. So the free roof inspection starts with a drone pass over every slope. A thermal image shows rot long before you see it from a ladder. Intracoastal frontage takes salt air like an oceanfront lot, so those roofs get corrosion-resistant fasteners and Factory-painted flashing as the default. We detail the flashing laps and the drainage for wind-driven rain.

El Cid
Landmark Mediterranean tile, restored through the board's Certificate of Appropriateness process.
Flamingo Park
Historic-district shingle and metal, with the profile matched so the street still looks 1920s.
Northwood Shores
Coastal blocks from the 1920s, where we check the wood deck under the old tile before we price the tear-off.
Southend (SOSO)
Intracoastal frontage, full salt exposure, so we pick the hardware and finishes to match.
Ibis
Golf course homes, where we clear the club's architectural rules before we schedule work.
Lands of the President

Roofing contractors for Palm Beach County.

Luxe is a Palm Beach County roofing contractor. Same crews in every town, same license.

Roof replacement is most of that work. The replacement page shows how a job runs. The cost page shows what moves the number. And financing has its own page.

Roof repair here is its own trade for us, and not every leak means a new roof. When a repair will do, we find the leak and price the repair. Storm damage gets dried in first by the emergency crew, with the permit paperwork following. Commercial buildings have their own pages for replacement and for repairs. Condo boards will find the multi-building process on the property management page.

How to find the best roofing company in West Palm Beach.

The best roofing company in West Palm Beach is the one whose records check out. Start with the license, which for us is CCC1335204. The state's contractor database will confirm it in under a minute. Reviews come second, and ours run 5.0 stars. Read the recent ones first.

The last check is one a roofer cannot write for himself. It is what the manufacturer says about the installer. GAF holds us at Master Elite. It grants that standing to fewer than 2% of all roofing contractors, and re-verifies it every year. On shingle, that standing lets us register the Golden Pledge. On a single-family detached home owned by an individual, both the material and the workmanship are covered. That coverage runs for as long as the original owner keeps the house. Materials are paid at full value for 50 years, so the coverage does not shrink as the roof ages. Workmanship runs 25 to 30 years, depending on the shingle line. Any other owner or building type runs on GAF's separate commercial and multifamily document. There the term is 40 years. That includes a condominium and an association-owned building. Our GAF page says what each certification covers and where it stops.

Run those checks on the best roofers in Palm Beach County, us included. The longer company story is on the about page. The estimate is free either way.

We hired Luxe to do a new metal roof and add a front porch extension to our home. Can't recommend them highly enough. Great communication, fair pricing and top notch work. The roof looks great. And the porch added some nice curb appeal to the house and is our new favorite hang out spot.
